Catch the Butterfly

Catch the Butterfly is a game I developed and helped design that explores the hardship of immigration to America from the perspective of a Syrian refugee. It uses gaminiscing, a method of game design that derives mechanics and interactions directly from personal stories. The player experiences the narrator’s journey of upheaval, adaptation, and introspection through simple gameplay and a nature metaphor.
