About

Hello! My name is Brandon. I began studying game development in 2019. I was primarily interested in game programming, which was an exciting extension of my existing statistical programming capabilites honed as a quantitative risk analyst in the finance industry.

I became infatuated with the game design as I was teaching myself game programming through obsessive study of online resources. I built a portfolio of small game projects, and decided that higher education would enable me to achieve my dream of developing compelling virtual experiences for people to enjoy.

My ultimate goal is to become a professor of game design. I love helping others to learn and I want to expand our collective understanding of how games can impact people meaningfully.

Favorite Games

Of course, I never would’ve started making games if I weren’t passionate about playing them! Born in the 90’s, one of my earliest memories is the antechamber of “Cool, Cool Mountain” in Super Mario 64 (I wasn’t able to jump into the level entry painting as a toddler). I have since played hundreds of games. Some of my favorites include:
۰ Banjo-Kazooie
۰ Halo: Combat Evolved
۰ The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
۰ Harvest Moon 64
۰ Slay the Spire

Other Hobbies

I spend most of my free time playing or developing video games, but some of my other hobbies include:
۰ Spending time with my boxer/husky rescue dog, Korra
۰ Collecting Pokémon cards
۰ Baking scones and making ice cream from scratch with my wife.
۰ Playing guitar and drums
۰ Playing tennis, racquetball, and American football
